2024 Practice Schedule
Encore practices will be held at Pioneer High School and will start Monday, May 6, 2024. Practices will continue weekly until Thursday, July 18th.
Practice Monday-Thursday
Time | Age Groups | |
5pm-6pm | 6 & Unders, 7-8s | |
6pm-7pm | 9-10s, 11-12s | |
7pm-8pm | 13-14s and 15-18s |
What your Swimmer should wear & bring: Swimmers may wear any bathing suit appropriate for a swim practice, including rashguards, long sleeve suits, or even wetsuits if needed (considered for 5-8yrs) in the initial weeks to help with the cooler water temps in May. More fitted options are preferred as less drag is better. As the weather warms, suits similar to what they will wear in a meet is recommended.
You are welcome to wear your Encore swim suit, but it is not required. Don't forget goggles and a towel, and swim caps are encouraged but not required. There are locker rooms to change in afterwards if desired. We will have kickboards on-site, but many kids like to have their own.
Coaches will share any additional items that will be used during the first few weeks of practice per age group.
We will not have practices on the following days:
- Memorial Day (Mon, 5/27)
- Independence Day (Thur, 7/4)
Practice Guidelines:
- Swimmers will swim with their age group at practice unless prior arrangements are made with their coach.
- Please be prompt when picking your child up at practices. It is not fair for the coach to have to wait for a child to be picked up.
- There are bleachers around the school where parents and siblings are welcome to sit and watch during practice.
Want to do more than watch? If you as a parent/guardian have previous coaching or swimming experience and would like to play a more active role during your child's swim time, we'd love you to contact us so we can discuss to consider opportunities for you to get involved. The more hands we have on deck, the more fun we can have with smaller group trainings! Email info@ or find our Head Coach on the deck to discuss further.
Encore Swim Team are guests at the Pioneer High School pool. We need to abide by the pool rules and be respectful of the property and the neighbors in the community.
