Hi Encore Dolphins, 

I hope this email finds you and yours well and in good health. As most of you have already heard, the shelter-in-place (SIP) was extended to May 31, with some restrictions lifted. However, for the most part, the SIP remains the same. Unfortunately this extension impacts not only Encore's season but all swim team. 

We have been in frequent contact with our fellow teams that form the Valley Aquatic League (VAL). All 5 teams have the same approach, that we are aware many swimmers have lost their school swim team season and year round teams due to quarantine and if possible, would like to provide a summer season even if that means a delayed and shorter season. At the moment all teams in VAL are going day by day and waiting to see how we can adjust the season so that our swimmers can have any type of season while keeping safety as our first priority. 

In looking beyond May, best case scenario would be that the season begins in June. However, if the SIP is extended, all teams in VAL are open to a season starting (and ending) in July. 

All of your coaches miss you dearly and have been looking forward to see you. Your board members have been meeting regularly and been trying to game plan as best possible. We all thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate through this together. We will keep you updated as information on COVID-19 is provided.
